Hat Check Kelly: Famous Long Ago

One thing is certain; Hat Check Kelly is dead. The globetrotting private detective accompanied by his spunky Asian sidekick and ward Sei'ku, who prowled rain soaked streets for gangsters and fifth column spies, is no more. The offices of Kelly & Kelly Investigations became dark; the operatives and informants who made it their home melted back into the city.
An era is over.
That much is certain.
For a former sidekick, however, it's not that easy. The child, rescued from the war-torn streets of Singapore and raised fighting crime in the shadow of a hero is now a woman. Estranged from Hat Check Kelly for years, her questions to him will forever remain unanswered, her issues, unresolved.
Sei'ku returns to Boston. The K&K office reopens but nothing is the same. There are few clients, no high-profile cases. The company's reputation was his and his alone. Even the addition of a sharp blonde receptionist, Nicky Belmont, does little to dispel the gloom.
Sultry, black-haired Sei'ku Kelly, drowning in uncertainty, must assume sole responsibility for her decisions and accept the burden of their consequences. In a darkened world of nighthawks and lowlifes, the search for identity may be the biggest mystery of all.
